*GlamGlow*: Is It Magic or Is It HYPE?

If you haven’t heard of it yet. You will. Because we are about to talk about it!!

GlamGlow- A mud face mask used by Hollywood celebs, claiming to drastically clear pores, smooth out skin tone, and create camera ready skin with immediate results. It has a price tag of $69 per 1.7oz container.

The enormous amount of raving reviews and excellent PR this product has gotten is staggering.

It claims to be *THE ABSOLUTE BEST*, with a fully stocked repertoire of celebrities who just can’t live without it, it’s nearly a celebrity in itself!

If you haven’t heard much about it, just take a gander at some of these reviews.

See?!

To set the record straight, I usually avoid anything that has hype around it until the hype fades… then I tip – toe my way over and secretly give it a go. I don’t like my experience to be influenced  by other’s responses.

Plus, who likes bandwagons?? Or hopping onto them??

But the reviews were so good!

People’s lives were being CHANGED, you guys!!

SO! I finally caved in and gave GlamGlow a fair shot. Twice, just to be really fair.

AND THE VERDICT IS!!…

Ehh.

I was less than enthused with the results.

Here’s what you need to know:

  1.  It is WAY too fragranced. When I opened the container it smelled like a cougar (on her way to da club) just left the perfume counter. Ew.
  2. The “tingle” sensation that it touts was actually quite nice, but all I could think about was how harsh the scented chemicals were on my face…
  3. It dried nicely and created a tightening effect that I liked!
  4. When I rinsed it off after 15 minutes and inspected my skin tone and pores, I literally saw no difference. It didn’t seem to extract anything at all and nothing about my skin tone changed.

Let it be clear that I see it as my duty to try every mask on the planet earth that I think has the potential to be awesome. I have used many-a-mud masks and this one’s results were lackluster.  If the product didn’t brag about having “immediate results” I could maybe cut it some slack, but for $69 for less than 2oz, I don’t think I can recommend this to anyone..

I’m open to being wrong here. Have YOU tried GlamGlow and had different results?? If you loved it, tell me why.  There can’t be this much hype for nothing.. right?

(Or maybe there can be if you pay the right people to”love”your product….?)

Pssssst.

This is still my absolute favorite mud mask.Chemical and fragrance free. It cleans out and shrinks pores, tightens and softens all in 15 minutes. Plus its about $8. It’s not as “glamorous” as GlamGlow, but it works a helluva lot better.
